ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
Sally Edwards
Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist

Welcome
I’m a fully qualified psychotherapist and EMDR therapist, offering in-person sessions in Kent, near Orpington and Bromley, and also online with clients across the UK and internationally.
My specialism is on the impacts of traumatic experiences. I work using a trauma-informed approach, which means instead of asking “What’s wrong with you?” I ask “What’s happened to you?” Because the issues we struggle with often make perfect sense in light of what we’ve lived through.
Many of the people I work with are navigating emotional overwhelm, burnout, or significant life transitions. Outwardly, they may seem capable and composed — but inwardly, they feel stuck, anxious, or depleted. They've reached a point where something needs to shift. The old ways of coping no longer feel sustainable, and parts of life just don’t sit right — even if they can’t yet say exactly why.
They’re not in crisis — but life doesn’t feel quite right. They’ve carried a lot, held things together, and coped silently. But something inside is quietly asking for more. They’re looking for a calm, steady space to reflect, recalibrate, and begin to move forward in a way that feels more like themselves.
What I Offer
My work centres on helping clients understand the emotional impact of life’s more difficult chapters — and supporting them to build resilience, ease inner tension, and reconnect with a grounded, resourced sense of self. This is therapy that holds both depth and possibility.
I support adults navigating a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:
-
Anxiety and general worry
-
Depression and low mood
-
Stress and overwhelm
-
PTSD / CPTSD
-
Low self-esteem and self-worth
-
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
-
Feeling stuck, lost or disconnected
-
Emotional sensitivity and dysregulation
-
Perfectionism and inner criticism
-
Grief, loss and emotional adjustment
-
Life transitions (career change, parenting, ageing, menopause, loss, relocation)
-
Relationship difficulties (including patterns of avoidance, people-pleasing or conflict)
-
Difficult family dynamics and early relational patterns
I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that draws on EMDR, somatic, and relational therapies to support meaningful, sustainable change.
We work gently and intentionally, at a pace that feels safe and empowering. This isn’t just about easing distress — it’s about helping you move forward with clarity, confidence, and self-leadership.
Please note that I work only with adults (18+) and offer individual therapy sessions. I do not offer couples or group therapy.
I’m an Accredited Member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and a Member of the EMDR UK Association.
